Teacher Banned For Wearing Black Lives Matter Pin

(Fresno, CA) -- A 75-year-old substitute teacher in California is no longer allowed in class after wearing a "Black Lives Matter" pin to work. Officials with the Clovis Unified School District say David Roberts cannot sub for the school anymore because he wore the political button that offended some students.

Roberts wore it to Clovis West High last month and was told the next day he was done. He had been with the school for a decade-and-a-half but the school says he was not following the policy of remaining neutral on political issues. Roberts is white and says the pin was worn as a "moral statement."
